Sporty Acquires Sanden Treningssenter

Sporty continues its growth and is proud to announce the acquisition of Sanden Treningssenter in Mandal. With this acquisition, Sporty further strengthens its presence in Southern Norway and now operates two fitness centers in the city.

Sanden Treningssenter is the largest fitness center in Mandal, offering more than 2,000 square meters of training facilities. For many years, it has been an important hub for fitness, health, and community activity, and is well known for its wide range of training options.

“With two fitness centers in Mandal, we can offer our members even greater flexibility. At the same time, they gain access to the entire Sporty network of more than 100 fitness centers across Norway,” says Pettersen.

Sanden Treningssenter has always been dedicated to promoting health and quality of life through an inclusive and welcoming training environment—values that align closely with Sporty's philosophy.

“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built over the years. From day one, our goal was to create more than just a fitness center. We wanted to build an inclusive meeting place where the joy of exercise, health, and community are at the heart of everything we do, and where everyone feels welcome—regardless of age, background, or fitness level.
Today, we have a large and successful fitness center with a strong reputation in the local community. It has become a place where people meet, find motivation, build friendships, and invest in their health. That is something I look back on with great pride.

That’s why it feels right to pass the baton to Sporty. I’m convinced they have the expertise, resources, and ambitions needed to take the center to the next level. This is a positive step forward for our members, our employees, and the center as a whole.

At the same time, I’m very pleased to continue being part of the journey. I look forward to contributing to the continuation of the safe, welcoming, and supportive training environment that has been built over many years. The culture, the sense of community, and the passion embedded in these walls are among our greatest strengths—and we will continue to protect and nurture them in the years ahead,” says former owner and center manager Anne Rachel Lohne-Bø.

“We have tremendous respect for everything that has been built at Sanden. Our ambition is to preserve the strong culture and outstanding training environment that members know and appreciate today, while introducing new opportunities through Sporty’s concepts and member benefits,” Pettersen concludes.
